Real Food CT is seeking an experienced, organized and passionate local food system administrator to manage the coordination and execution of their primary programs.  RFCT is a farm and food system organization that operates two small farms in Newtown, CT, runs a Young Farmer Internship Program and coordinates a farm surplus pickup and delivery program.  Combined, our efforts have donated an average of 30K lbs of fresh produce every year to hunger relief organizations in the region.

The right candidate will have exceptional organizational and communication skills and will feel comfortable working with established, but still evolving programs.  Some of the responsibilities will involve:

  • Coordinating and managing our hunger relief delivery schedule (this includes the timing of harvest from our farms, pickup from our farm surplus partners and delivery to hunger relief partners)
  • Hands-on time contributing at the farms during the season and assisting our farm managers with volunteer and intern coordination
  • Expanding our network of farms, delivery partners, volunteer groups and more
  • Assisting in establishing our new Food Hub model for the upcoming 2024 season
  • Working closely with our communications team to tell our story and represent our programs
  • Communicate regularly with the Executive Director and Board Committees as needed

This is a full-time, contract position that will run from April 1st through November 30th, 2024.  Pay will be $36,000 salary with a possibility of a full-time position at the end of the contract.
