Who We Are
Real Food CT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy food. We connect local farms with hunger relief organizations to increase access to fresh, locally grown food across our region.

What We Do
We connect locally grown, healthy food to people in our community who need it most. We operate two community farms in Newtown, CT, recover surplus produce and glean from regional farms, and aggregate and distribute fresh food to hunger relief organizations across our service area.
Our work strengthens local agriculture while increasing food access through farmer partnerships, volunteer engagement, and workforce development. This year, we are expanding our gleaning and surplus recovery program and launching a pilot farm to school effort as part of a broader strategy to build resilient, equitable local food systems.
Volunteer
Join a group of volunteers ready to grow and donate over 150,000 pounds of fresh produce to our neighbors in need in 2026. There are many ways to contribute, on and off the farm.
