Real Food CT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy food. We are connecting local farms and hunger relief organizations in our region to eliminate hunger.
Who We Are
What We Do
We establish and manage Giving Gardens and we collect surplus produce from local farms, all for donation to local hunger-relief organizations. In addition, we train young farmer interns and run programs and events to support local agriculture and an equitable food system. This year we are building a Food Hub to create a much-needed supply chain connecting nutritious locally grown food to area schools, hospitals, and hunger-relief organizations.
Join a group of volunteers ready to grow and donate over 100,000 pounds of fresh produce to our neighbors in need in 2024. There are many ways to contribute, on and off the farm.
Partner with Us
To the 30 farms in our area: You are the most important players in our local food system. Your work and efforts are invaluable. We have solutions to glean, collect, and purchase your harvest for delivery to local food pantries.

We keep you connected to the best in local food, nutrition, education, gardening tips, and much more.
Real Food CT runs on the heart and soul of volunteers. Your donation will go toward the costs of our production operations, transportation of food donations, community education, young farmer interns, and the implementation of our Small Farm Model in underserved communities. Help us to build a sustainable food system that feeds everyone. Thank you!
